Breaks / Meal Break (sometimes referred to as a “Lunch”)

  • Every employee needs to take their lunch break off the clock. You must take this Meal Break. Really, we insist. And so does California Labor Law.

  • And every employee must be on the clock for 30 minutes before clocking out for lunch.

  • Every employee needs to take their 30-minute lunch break before doors open at 7:00pm.

  • This lunch break cannot be less than 30 minutes in length.

  • Clock IN and OUT for lunch on the same time clock.

  • $5 Meals will be made available nightly 5:30pm – 6:45pm at specific locations. Nom nom.

Break Etiquette

  • Don't hang out in the performance areas where guests can see you, even to watch shows.

  • Don’t hang out in the bar or behind it. Your break allows you space away for a reason.

  • Gonna smoke or vape? Make sure you do it in the designated Back of House (BOH) Zone.

  • Roaming The Queen Mary is a no-go. Unless you are a barback, or working in a bar on the ship, you should not be on the QM anytime during the event. This includes The Pig & Whistle Cafeteria which is completely off-limits.

  • It's a "meal break" but, no, you don't have to eat if you don't want to. Though it’s certainly recommended.

  • Yes, you can eat during your other breaks even though they're not referred to as a Meal Break or "Lunch.”
