Breaks / Meal Break (sometimes referred to as a “Lunch”)
Every employee needs to take their lunch break off the clock. You must take this Meal Break. Really, we insist. And so does California Labor Law.
And every employee must be on the clock for 30 minutes before clocking out for lunch.
Every employee needs to take their 30-minute lunch break before doors open at 7:00pm.
This lunch break cannot be less than 30 minutes in length.
Clock IN and OUT for lunch on the same time clock.
$5 Meals will be made available nightly 5:30pm – 6:45pm at specific locations. Nom nom.
Don't hang out in the performance areas where guests can see you, even to watch shows.
Don’t hang out in the bar or behind it. Your break allows you space away for a reason.
Gonna smoke or vape? Make sure you do it in the designated Back of House (BOH) Zone.
Roaming The Queen Mary is a no-go. Unless you are a barback, or working in a bar on the ship, you should not be on the QM anytime during the event. This includes The Pig & Whistle Cafeteria which is completely off-limits.
It's a "meal break" but, no, you don't have to eat if you don't want to. Though it’s certainly recommended.
Yes, you can eat during your other breaks even though they're not referred to as a Meal Break or "Lunch.”
